Helping those who help others
The Wood County CISM team is a collaborative effort of multiple Wood County and partnering agencies.
Team members are all volunteers from their respective agencies in which they serve including: law enforcement, emergency medical services, fire departments, first responders, human services, hospitals, jail, dispatch, and flight crews.
In the worst situations, you will always find helpers running towards the unknown; many times to their own detriment.
Our goal is to find an opportunity to help the helpers following the crisis.
The Wood County Critical Incident Stress Management Team exists to help those who are always there to answer the call and respond to others.
We officially launched into service in July of 2019, however we began providing some services on a limited basis in the fall of 2018.
As of June 1, 2021, we have provided over 30 debriefs and served over 350 first responders. We continue to grow and develop our program and we are looking forward to further expansion in the future.
If you are an emergency responder/frontline worker or licensed professional and have interest in joining our team in the future, please send us an email and we'll contact you during the next recruitment for team members!
